2022 ALDER SCIENCE FAIR
ALL of the students who participated in the Alder Science Fair today did an amazing job! The students presented their findings from their independent, scientific research projects they had been conducting for several months. Many students were recognized at the awards ceremony. Receiving first place in their categories were: Abby deCosta (Medicine and Microbiology), Gabe Gomez (Behavioral Science and Consumer Science), Tyler Wood (Biochemistry, Botany, and Earth Science), and Preston Pahang (Physics, Mathematics, and Computers). The People’s Choice Award, voted on by students attending the fair, went to Alex Piskun. The Gold Medal winner for best overall project went to Tyler Wood and his biochemistry project measuring how differing amounts of sodium alginate affect gel spheres. The Silver Medal went to Preston Pahang for his project on the correlation between various batting statistics and run production in major league baseball. The Bronze Medal went to Rushik Kundalia, and Honorable Mention went to Jake Pacquing.
Amazing job, students, and best of luck at the Jersey Shore Science Fair at Stockton on March 19th - we’re sure you'll all do a great job and take home some awards for EHT!
